Description: The bold and delicate contrast of this piece had me experiencing yet another internal revelation. I wanted to depict movement through the background brushstrokes to create a feeling of calmness in motion. Playing with space through placement of different solid shapes allows to integrate abstraction in a new way.

Through painting this piece, I found my style integrates abstraction and perfection through the mindful concept of letting go. In order to create the crisp bold shapes over top of the wispy background, I practiced breathwork - trusting myself in the moment to perfectly execute each motion as I painted each layer of the composition. It’s an interesting mental concept to learn to achieve perfection through letting go, allowing for the seamless convergence of all elements involved. This paradox of letting go and trusting myself to execute the perfect line or shape served to be a very liberating experience. I feel this concept is also applicable to our everyday lives - when we are in a state of self-trust versus self-doubt, we thrive in what we wish to accomplish and things usually go smoother as we flow with the moment and our grounded sense of self.
