Description: As I continue to progress in both my spiritual and mental health journey, I have manifested increasing trust within myself to trust my inner being and learn to let go. In creating this piece, I aimed to express myself without self imposed barriers; articulated through mediums, techniques, shapes, and colours.

The base layer is composed of free flow acrylic markings which are a combination of the words “Trust” and “Control”. The medium deep yellow circle articulates free flow placed edge marks of a palette knife, the large bold red triangle holds traces of the bristles of my brush - both creating subtle impasto within the composition. The freestyle black oil pastel marks is yet another aspect of “liberation” that aims to emulate letting go and just doing it…well simply because I want to.

I typically find as I am nearing completion of final composition, I tend to utilize precise and perfected geometric shapes, lines, and techniques to incorporate a level of calculated layering to contrast the free flow portions of the painting.
